The Hijra of the Prophet Muhammad( peace be upon him) is a significant event in Islamic history that marks the migration of the Prophet and his followers from Makkah to Madinah.

The early Muslims faced severe persecution and oppression at the hands of the Quraysh lineage, who vehemently opposed the communication of Islam.

The Prophet Muhammad, under godly guidance, realized the need to establish a new base where the Muslim community could thrive and exercise their faith freely.

therefore, the decision to resettle to Madinah was made.



The Quran, the holy book of Islam, contains several verses that allude to the Hijra and its significance.

One similar verse is set up in Surah Al- Tawbah, where Allah says" If you don't prop the Prophet- Allah has formerly backed him when those who discredited had driven him out( of Makkah) as one of two when they were in the delve"

{ إِلَّا تَنصُرُوهُ فَقَدۡ نَصَرَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِذۡ أَخۡرَجَهُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ ثَانِیَ ٱثۡنَیۡنِ إِذۡ هُمَا فِی ٱلۡغَارِ إِذۡ یَقُولُ لِصَـٰحِبِهِۦ لَا تَحۡزَنۡ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَنَاۖ فَأَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ سَكِینَتَهُۥ عَلَیۡهِ وَأَیَّدَهُۥ بِجُنُودࣲ لَّمۡ تَرَوۡهَا وَجَعَلَ كَلِمَةَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱلسُّفۡلَىٰۗ وَكَلِمَةُ ٱللَّهِ هِیَ ٱلۡعُلۡیَاۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِیزٌ حَكِیمٌ }


[Surah At-Tawbah: 40]

             and he said to his companion,' Don't suffer; indeed Allah is with us"( 940). 

 ".لَا تَحۡزَنۡ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَنَاۖ "

This verse highlights the godly support and backing given to the Prophet Muhammad during the delicate moments of the Hijra.

It showcases the unvarying faith and trust the Prophet had in Allah's protection and guidance. 


The Hijra holds great significance in the words and conduct of the Prophet Muhammad.

Several Ahadith give perceptivity to the Hijra and its assignments.

This Hadith emphasizes the perpetual nature of migration, not only in the physical sense but also in terms of spiritual growth and seeking closeness to Allah.

   Another Hadith country" He who leaves his home in hunt of knowledge is on the path of Allah until he returns"( Sunan Ibn Majah).

This Hadith highlights the significance of seeking knowledge and the amenability to make offerings in pursuit of it,  analogous to the Prophet's migration for the sake of establishing a community grounded on faith and knowledge.

In Surah Al- Anfal, Allah says," And whoever emigrates for the cause of Allah will find numerous( indispensable)  locales and cornucopia on the earth. And whoever leaves his home as an emigrant to Allah and His Messenger and also death overtakes him- his price has formerly come peremptory upon Allah". 

{ ۞ وَمَن یُهَاجِرۡ فِی سَبِیلِ ٱللَّهِ یَجِدۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُرَ ٰ⁠غَمࣰا كَثِیرࣰا وَسَعَةࣰۚ وَمَن یَخۡرُجۡ مِنۢ بَیۡتِهِۦ مُهَاجِرًا إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ثُمَّ یُدۡرِكۡهُ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ فَقَدۡ وَقَعَ أَجۡرُهُۥ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورࣰا رَّحِیمࣰا }

[Surah An-Nisāʾ: 100] 


This verse highlights the godly pledge of price for those who resettle for the sake of Allah and His Messenger.

It emphasizes the significance of immolation and the amenability to leave one's motherland to establish and save the faith. 

 The Hijra also serves as a practical illustration of trust in Allah's plan.

The Prophet Muhammad and his companion, Abu Bakr, sought retreat in the delve of Thawr during their trip to Madinah.

It was during this critical moment that the notorious incident of the spider's web and dove's nest passed,  furnishing godly protection and concealing their presence from their hunters.

   Through the Hijra, the Prophet Muhammad demonstrated the significance of perseverance and reliance on Allah's guidance.

Despite the challenges and troubles they faced, the Prophet and his companions noway wavered in their commitment to the principles of Islam and the establishment of a just society

 The migration to Madinah also brought about a transformative change in the relationship between Muhajireen and the Ansar, the occupants of Madinah who handed backing and support to the settlers.

The bond of brotherhood established between the Muhajireen and Ansar instanced the significance of concinnity and cooperation in erecting a solid and cohesive community.
